Meet the Musicians

Sara Leanne

Sara Leanne is a world-touring professional musician, praised for her rich, smokey voice, elegant piano playing, and sensitive musicianship. Aside from Songbird: A Celebration of Eva Cassidy - an offshoot of her jazz band Smoke & Honey - Sara is best known for performing the role of Christine McVie with Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, officially endorsed by Mick Fleetwood, and has appeared with the band at many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls and venues. She also maintains a strong working relationship with The Night Owl Shows, having performed with them across the UK and Australia in productions such as ‘California Dreams: Sounds of LA 1965-75’ and ‘The Carole King & James Taylor Story’.

Sara trained as a classical pianist and singer and graduated from King’s College London in 2018 with a First Class degree in Music. Having spent most of her early adulthood immersed in contemporary vocal music, Sara has won numerous awards for her vocal arrangements, and has since worked with companies such as the BBC, Universal Music Group, Band on the Wall, and Varsity Vocals USA.

Andrew Jones

Andrew Jones

Andrew Jones is a multi-instrumentalist based in Liverpool. He graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2020 and works as an arranger and performer, as well as writing music for TV.

Andrew has played and recorded keyboards for several artists including New Order, Jill Andrews and Twinnie, and has recently provided arrangements for the BBC Concert Orchestra, Channel 4 and Sky Arts.

Tom Chapman

Tom Chapman is a professional bass guitarist, composer and arranger based in Manchester. He works across a broad range of genres including jazz, hip hop, soul, rock and blues, and has performed extensively both across the UK and internationally.

His performance experience includes appearances at major UK festivals (Manchester Jazz Festival, Kendal Calling, etc), international tours across Europe and Africa, and many of the UK’s biggest venues. Over the years, he has worked with a wide variety of artists and ensembles, contributing to projects as both performer and arranger.

In addition to live performance, Tom is active as a composer and arranger, writing for a range of settings, from small groups to larger ensembles.

Matt Brown

Matt Brown

Matt Brown is a drummer and producer based in Manchester, UK. Since graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2017 he has been playing with artists such as Agbeko, The Easy Rollers, and Smoke & Honey, touring the UK and abroad including MIF, Green Man Festival, Soundwave Festival (Croatia), Meadows In the Mountains (Bulgaria), WOMEX, Dauphine Jazz Festival (Paris), and Malta International Arts Festival (Valletta).

Matt is one half of Ember Productions, developing and recording up-and-coming artists from across the UK. His recordings have been played on BBC Radio 2, Radio 3, and Radio 6, as well as many others in the UK and across the world from France to Nigeria to Japan.
